Why Give to the Celtic Fund?
Catholic education has always been at the heart of the Catholic mission. Our students are the greatest work of the Church. Everyday our faculty gives their very best to ensure that students are prepared to step into the world and share their knowledge. God-given talents, and faith fostered by their St. John Neumann education.
Since we opened our doors 42 years ago, we have certainly experienced many changes and great growth. However, two things remained; we are still a family who supports and cares for each other, and we rely on the support of area churches, community members, alumni, and our Celtic families to help keep SJN going strong.
Each year we reach out to ask for support for the Celtic Fund which helps us close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a Celtic education. The Celtic Fund generates unrestricted dollars that can be applied to the areas that have the greatest need for the academic year. A gift of any amount would make an impact. In a time when Catholic education is more important than ever, would you consider a gift to the Celtic Fund?
In a time when Catholic education is more important than ever, we ask that you prayerfully consider a gift to the Celtic Fund so that SJN can continue to fortify our students with a strong Catholic education and provide a solid foundation for life!
May Jesus live in our hearts, forever!
The Guardian Angel Program invites you to become a sponsor for a student who may not otherwise be bale to afford a Catholic education.
For a gift of $1,000 a year ($83/month for 12 months), you can make a high quality, faith-based education possible for a deserving student. St. John Neumann will pair you with a student that you will follow throughout the year. You will have the opportunity to meet your students at our annual Guardian Angel Dinner.
If you would like to become a Guardian Angel or wish to learn more about helping, please call Judi Neeld at (239)-455.3044.
We are grateful for all donations!
According to a study by the University of Notre Dame Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE), parents who send their children to Catholic school often cite safety and values as motivation for their choice. These two vital considerations are a huge part of the benefits students of Catholic schools receive, but they represent only a portion of what researchers call the Catholic School Advantage.
ADVANTAGES:
Students who attend Catholic schools are more likely to attend church and remain active Catholics as adults.
86% of students who graduate from Catholic schools attend college, compared to 40% of students in public schools.
Catholic school students are also more accepting of diverse views, more likely to vote, more likely to be civically engaged, and earn higher wages than their public school peers.
Hispanic and African American Students who attend Catholic schools are 42% more likely to graduate from high school and 2.5 times more likely to graduate college.
98% of low income, minority children graduate from high schools, compared to only 66% of all students in public schools.
The gifts of Catholic schools are not limited to those who attend them; they are a blessing to our nation, forming active and compassionate citizens, while lowering costs for public schools — by educating 2 million children, Catholic schools save the nation $24 billion annually.
The Catholic School Advantage is especially pronounced for low-income and minority students. Yet, the very students most in need of an effective intervention, who would most benefit from a Catholic education, are usually also those who have the least access to this unique, life-changing opportunity.
